In the third quarter of 2025, the top five news and magazine apps on a unified platform in Ghana showed varied performance trends in terms of downloads, active users, and revenue. Here's a closer look at each app's performance based on Sensor Tower data.

X from X Corp. saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $1.9K in late July. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of about 19.8K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 2M throughout the quarter.

Breaking News - Live Headlines had no recorded revenue but experienced a gradual increase in downloads, peaking at over 9K in early August. Active users grew steadily from 48K to 72K by the end of the quarter.

Opera News: breaking & local showed a decline in downloads from 7.3K in early August to just over 1K by the end of September, while active users decreased from 77K to around 68K.

Breaking Local News also recorded no revenue, but weekly downloads increased from under 100 in late June to nearly 2.4K by the end of September.
